十月 17 2016 Published by under EZ心情

  1. More than 50% of Indonesia’s 260 million are below the age of 30. This means that most of the populations are in productive period. This is one of the reasons why a lot of foreign investors are looking to invest in Indonesia aggressively.
  2. The government only recognizes six religions – Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Protestantism, Catholicism, and Confucianism – and every citizen must officially subscribe to one of those religions, regardless of what he or she may actually believe. Two individuals with different religions are not allowed to marry, unless one of them converts. The chosen religion is listed on every citizens’ ID card.
  3. Only 7% of the population speaks Bahasa Indonesia as their mother tongue according to University of Washington’s Asian Languages and Literature. There are more than 300 native languages spoken in Indonesia. Bahasa Indonesia is spoken by most Indonesians as their second language as it is the “unifying language.” So most Indonesians are bilingual speaking their native language and the national language, Bahasa Indonesia.
  4. Indonesian censors anything vulgar on TV, including cartons. TV is still dominating the distribution of information throughout Indonesian people. That’s why Indonesia has a very strict censorship regulation for every TV channel. However, some of the censorship done by the TV channel are a bit exaggerated, such the one shown in the picture below.

  5. Gojek, one of the most innovated on-demand platform, is made in Indonesia. Gojek started as a ride-hailing app used to book Indonesia’s two-wheeled “ojek" motorbikes. The app quickly evolved from its original ojek-hailing purpose into a one-stop shop for on-demand services, such as ordering take-away meals, couriers, masseuses, at-home salon treatments, auto services and the latest addition: medicine delivery.
